University Faculty Senate Committee on Curricular Affairs policy maintains a policy in which any undergraduate course that has not been offered for five years will be automatically dropped unless an academic unit requests an exemption and the exemption is granted by the Senate Committee on Curricular Affairs.
Procedure:
- The Faculty Senate Office will provide an annual fall report to ACUE deans with a list of courses that have not been delivered during the preceding five years and that have been placed in automatic-drop status.
- ACUE deans will consult with appropriate members of their academic units to determine whether an exception to the five year drop policy should be requested. Such requests must be submitted by the associate dean to the Senate Committee on Curricular Affairs within 45 days.
- The Senate Committee on Curricular Affairs will review exception requests and make a determination within 60 days.
- The Faculty Senate Office will publish a list of all dropped courses at the end of each academic year in the Senate Curriculum Report.
